College Office

My name is Alexa Laboy and I am the new Director of College Counseling. I am an alumna of College Bound Initiative, born and raised in East Harlem. I am a first-generation college graduate from Gettysburg College. I recently finished my Masters at Baruch College and I am working on my doctorate at Clark Atlanta University. I am very passionate about this work and giving back to my community, the same way my college counselor did for me.

The College Office at Central Park East High School is fully dedicated to getting our students into the college that best fits them. The office is available to students throughout the school year and works in collaboration with the school's Senior Seminar instructor to support students through the college-application process. 

 

During the school year, the College office is staffed with a Director of College Counseling; over the summer, we have a Bridge-to-College Coach.

The College Office was brought to Central Park East High School in 2014 through a partnership with The College Bound Initiative, a non-profit organization that stems from the Young Women's Leadership Network.
